Best of the Net Nominations 2026 – Poems in Honour of Lord Byron

We are excited to announce our nominations for the Best of the Net Anthology 2026 edition with Sundress Publications.  We have nominated six poems from our poetry collection ‘Mad, bad and dangerous to know’, which we published in honour of Lord Byron for the bicentenary of his death — you can read the full collection here.  It must be noted that it was dreadfully difficult to choose only six, and, if we were allowed, we would have nominated every poem from the collection.  Congratulations and good luck to the nominees!

Helena Brors — ‘La sua Allegrina’ (with Swedish translation)

Paul atten Ash — ‘O Light! She Was the Universe’

Beth McDonough — ‘Dropping the gauntlet. Entering the Tagus’

A C Clarke — ‘Burning the Book’

Mark Smalley — ‘Britons on the Bosphorus’

Marcelle Newbold — ‘This forest, a confidant’
